Surteco Decor wins Red Dot Award

There was great excitement as Surteco Decor wins a Red Dot Award for its “Co-Equal Edition” in the product design category. The Red Dot Award is judged by a jury of international experts who paid tribute to the high design quality of the decors submitted.

The Co-Equal Edition comprises the three cylinders prints “Aquino”, “Millart” and “Alegre”. These have been blended with existing decors originating in the various worlds. For example, the traditional herringbone enters into a liaison with marble, Portuguese tiles with wood appearance, ethno look with concrete structures. The result is a range of completely new aspects, combining the apparently impossible – an interplay of impressions. Innumerable combination options open up diverse perspectives for individual requirements, as the three embossing cylinders of the “Co-Equal Edition” can be combined with almost all the decors to new, exciting patterns.

From the technological perspective too, the Co-Equal Edition is groundbreaking: Digital and analogue printing processes are deployed in parallel and compose a cohesive overall view.

Millart – Herringbone with surprise effect

The renaissance of the classic herringbone is not only evident on the floor, but has also reached other areas in interior design. Millart playfully creates a feeling of lightness. This lends the combination decors an understated, modern appeal that fascinates the viewer with varying aspects.

Aquino – the rhythm of cultural diversity

The “one world” idea is more than a cultural mix: tradition, art, philosophy, interpretation and faith enter into a dialogue, form new variants and mould themselves afresh. Aquino takes up ideas from the ethno movement and displays its facets in harmony with wood decors, plain shades, stone reproductions and concrete structures.

Alegre – Mediterranean lightness yet down to earth

When the Arabs arrived on the Iberian peninsula in the 8th century, they brought with them a wealth of art, science and culture. The Portuguese concrete tiles – known as azulejos – take up these inspirations and interpret them in a language of their own. Alegre reflects the lifestyle of the south – sunshine, lightness, the sea and, yes, the great longing for far-away places and for home.
