Clever innovation, boldly matching heightened aesthetics with increased safety, is the key feature of the new Colori Aqua collection of kitchen mixer taps – two highly functional models with temperature-sensitive LED lights that visually indicate the temperature of the water.
These elegant, arched taps illuminate the water as it leaves the spout – a sparkling stream of blue water when cold (below 31°C), white lit water for warm (between 31 and 43°C) and then bright red for hot (43 to 50°C). When the water is so hot – over 50°C – that it has the potential to scald, the red light starts to flash. The immediate advantage of this new technology is the visual response to shimmering, light-filled coloured water, and very important benefit is that of safety. For children and the elderly the coloured lights, give a very clear and immediate indication of whether the water is a potential hazard. We saw some very interesting use of colour at Eurocucina last year- I know there are some talented designers out there who could utilise this product, not only from an aesthetic perspective but also a practical one!
