Australian International Design Awards – early bird entries close TODAY

GDA Logo BlackThe Australian International Design Awards has been a fixture in the design community for more than five decades and is proud to announce that 2013 will see the inclusion of additional categories relating to architecture, interiors, hardware, building, housewares, furniture, lighting, domestic appliances and consumer electronics.

The “Architecture & Interiors” category will see submissions of the best in architecture, landscape design, public space design, office and retail fitouts, environmental signage, wayfinding, street equipment, environments and exhibitions.

The “Hardware & Building” category will accept submissions for the best in home hardware, power tools, garden and lawn care, pool care, home security, building products, plumbing, lighting systems and industrial fittings.

The “Housewares & Objects” category extends to products such as tableware, kitchen utensils, cookware, laundry accessories, pet care, home décor, ornaments and hand-crafted objects.

“People often assess design based on visual appearance and functionality, however, we measure design based on the parameters of form, function, quality, safety and sustainability,” says Brandon Gien, Managing Director of Good Design Australia and Chair of the AIDA.

Submissions close on Thursday 28th March 2013 but early-bird entries, with a discount of 20% off the entry fee, close TODAY, 28th February. Winners will be announced on Thursday 30th May 2013.
