The Del Curto brand has been around for more than 35 years and specialises in manufacturing selected timber products such as kitchens and furniture for the bathroom, living room and bedroom. Production of these elegant pieces combines a blend of traditional cabinet making and research of the most modern techniques with attention to the smallest of detail the company’s overriding principle.
This stunning piece, the Albareda Wine cabinet, is inspired by the local Lombardian wine made on the steep terraced slopes surrounding the region. Created in the ski resort of Valchiavenna in the Dolomite Ranges just above Lake Como, the Albareda is made from locally-grown and family-managed pine plantations. It uses solid pine and steel hinges made by the company and, in an attempt to protect the employees and the end consumer, only water-based resins are used.
This is what real cabinet making used to be all about: natural, unique, fit for its purpose – a proper piece of furniture.
It’s easy to imagine a number of interior design scenarios where a product such as this would be suitable – kitchens, entertainment zones, bars, dining rooms etc… A stand-alone piece with such presence would automatically become the focal point of any space.
I must try some of that wine next year at Eurocucina!
