Recently released during Milan Design Week, this is “Bar” from Italian brand VG. Designed by Vincenzo Antonuccio and Marilena Calbini from VM Design, Bar reflects the retro/contemporary combo for which the brand is renown.
This 3-metre x 1.3-metre structure is minimalist in design and plays on use of shape to create visual interest. I particularly love the open shelf underneath which clearly shows the full-length sink and tap cutting through as they descend to the floor. The top is glass and is available in transparent, white, black or red, with the tap in a chrome steel finish and the beautifully rounded shape of the sink finished in leather (I’ve emailed the company to try to find out if it’s actually encased in leather or just a leather-look finish. If I get a reply we’ll update the blog to reflect the new info received).
The VG brand is well known in the Italian luxury interior décor sector and this latest release is certainly an eye-catching item. Its styling allows it to be placed in a variety of settings – both residential and commercial.
