New from Ceramica Cielo is the “Terre di Ciele” chromatic range which celebrates organic shapes, natural tones and architectural style.
This gorgeous range of ceramic items for the bathroom celebrates a range of neutral, natural tones which bring the essence of nature back into the home. A particular focus was paid to the tactile attributes of the collection with an emphasis on the relationship between sight and touch.
The company has used a variety of chemical compositions to create colours for the range including Pomice, Brina, Arenaria, Creta, Cadao, Basalto, Tufo, Limo, Tabacco, Agave, Salvia and Muschio.
Aside from how gorgeous this range appears, I was intrigued by the company’s reference to “sight and touch” in its press release. I’ve noticed my own emotional reaction to various products when I visit exhibitions both here and overseas, and I find there are some products which I simply must touch – it’s not enough to just look and appreciate its beauty visually.
I’ve always found it hard to describe this visceral reaction. It used to be mainly to natural stone – for example, I’d spot an amazing free-standing marble bath and I’d find it impossible to resist reaching out to feel its cool surface and allow my hand to trace the outline of its shape. But I’m finding this has now expanded to include solid surface products, tapware and pretty much anything that opens and closes.
For now, I’ll have to be content to simply look at this new range but Ceramica Cielo is often an exhibitor at a range of shows so I’m hoping to see it on display, and feel it for myself, at next year’s International Bathroom Exhibition.

Do you get the same emotional response to such products? Can you resist the “touch and feel” component at exhibitions or are you like me and need to connect with the product in a tactile way?
