Hot on the heels of Interzum, Staron has released its new Solid Surface colours for 2013. Five new colours are featured, inspired by city living while paying homage to the serenity and beauty of nature.
Staron worked closely with world-wide leading trend forecasters in fashion and style, Nelly Rodi, who were responsible for creating four of the new colours – Placid, Mist, Serene and Blis.
Placid is described as pure, tranquil and fresh. Inspiration for this colour came from the beauty of crystal-blue waters and clear skies.
Mist reflects the changeable moods of storm clouds, light mist and calmness. This colour was inspired by the smoky fog found on high mountain tops.
Serene best fits the essence of water-washed stone, deep natural tones, warmth and comfort. The rich hues of dessert sand were the inspiration for this colour.
Blis brings to mind a concrete jungle, contemporary beauty and urban elegance and was inspired by city skyscrapers and modern living.
Earthen Stratum incorporates the gleam of glistening city lights, sparkling views and sophistication. It was inspired by the buzz of the city atmosphere and lights in the evening.
These five new colours are very much in keeping with what we saw emerging at Interzum 2013 and my personal favourite is Mist. I love the rich hue and misty essence of the surface, and I can see that it would work really well across a variety of kitchen, bathroom or interior designs. Which one is your favourite?
