Gary Isherwood talks about Cosentino in Australia

Thursday night last week saw the Cosentino Group open its new showroom in Sydney. Located at Level 1, Suite 30, 69 O’Riordan Street, Alexandria, the new showroom gives architects, designers and consumers the opportunity to see Cosentino’s extensive range of products including Silestone®, the global leader in quartz surfaces and Eco® by Cosentino.

A unique but beautiful way to display material

Gary Isherwood, Area Director for Cosentino Australia, comments: “We are extremely excited to be opening our first showroom in Sydney’s CBD and look forward to engaging with our customers more closely. We have designed the showroom to reflect the stylish, clean, modern style Cosentino is known for, and as a space where consumers, architects and designers can engage with our product range firsthand.”

The showroom features Cosentino’s extensive range of products and finishes, including Silestone®,  Eco® by Cosentino, which is composed of 75% recycled materials as well as their newest innovation, Dekton®, which is ideal for indoor and outdoor application. With prototype benchtops and a palette of colours on display, the showroom gives consumers insight into how Cosentino’s products can be used to transform any room.

Since launching in Australia in 2011, with a AUD$4.2m investment, Cosentino has expanded significantly, meeting the growing needs of the market and consumers.20130905_181757

Gary continues, “Two years ago, we saw an exciting opportunity in Australia for Cosentino. It is a lucrative market and was an important step in our global expansion plan. Since launching here in 2011, we’ve seen a positive response from architects, designers, fabricators and retailers. To date, we hadn’t been proactively engaging with consumers directly but the new showroom presents an opportunity to do so.”

The opening offered a sneak-peek of Cosentino’s most innovative product yet, Dekton®, and was officiated by design expert and television personality, Neale Whitaker. The opening also served as a chance to award Matthew Sikora from the University of Technology Sydney, (see TKBB story 7th August) winner of the International Cosentino Design Challenge, with his prize.

Eduardo Martinez-Cosentino, Commercial Director and  VP of Sales, Cosentino, attended the launch and said; ” We want this facility to be a creative, open space, which delivers the best constructive solutions, beauty and enduring value for those who use Cosentino products.”

With at least 200 guests in attendance on the night, the opening reflects Cosentino’s growth in Australia and the overwhelmingly positive relationships that have been built between the company and its customers, industry professionals and stakeholders.

Our understanding is that in true Cosentino tradition, celebrations continued late into the night – or was that early the next morning?
