With Cersaie concluded for another year, our inbox is overflowing with plenty of fabulous new products and designs so we’ll take a few posts to share them with you. This is Fluid – designed by Marco Piva for Cielo – and displayed at Cersaie.
The range is described by the company as: “Fluidity is the underlying theme of this project, inspired by the movement and the nature of water itself which, through the plasticity of ceramic material, gives a sculptural dignity to the various shapes on whose surface continuity light is reflected”.
Renowned designer and architect Marco Piva collaborated with Cielo and says “Fluidity makes it possible to give the forms their outlines by working with light and its reflections. I have always imagined the space associated with water as one that, as such, has a marked fluid and dynamic connotation”.
The range including freestanding and wall-hung washbasins as well as back-to-wall and wall-hung toilets and bidets. The design is one of formal simplicity with an advanced approach to ergonomics which has created the sinuous, comfortable forms of the collection. Cleverly, the integration of the drain into the wall-hung toilets and bidets creates a smooth surface across the sanitary fixture, thus facilitating cleaning and increasing hygiene.
Manufactured from the best quality Italian ceramics, the Fluid range is available in glossy white, glossy black, stone and anthracite as well as twelve new nature-inspired colours – Basalto, Brina, Pomice, Talco, Cadao, Tabacco, Arenaria, Tufo, Mushio, Salvia, Agave and Limo.
I love this collection’s flowing lines and soft shapes – it would fit perfectly across a range of bathroom styles. I also appreciate the visual aesthetic created by the designer with its classic forms ensuring its longevity.
