Yesterday saw the close of the third Grand Designs Live Sydney show.
There’s no question that the show towers above all other consumer events in all aspects – savvy individuals, serious buyers and, in addition, a healthy splattering of some stunning products. We thought we’d take a look at a couple that really caught the eye and imagination of not just the consumer but fellow exhibitors as well.
Clearlight Designs – based in Byron Bay (and who wouldn’t want that!) Clearlight uses innovative techniques to delicately sandblast images in the finest detail onto many surfaces including glass, mirrors granite, slate and marble. Using glass as the canvas, the designs appear to float enhancing the interior atmosphere of the space. In talking to Lucas Greenham from Clearlight the possibilities are endless – even splashbacks are entering the portfolio, stencilled and backlit. Seriously, this is an amazing product, check it out at www.clearlightdesigns.com.au
The second amazing product I spotted is great for those who include, or are involved with, total renovations. Enzie Spiral Staircases has 40 year’s experience of stair building. An Enzie spiral staircase is modular – not a “one size fits all” solution. Each Enzie spiral staircase is made to order so the floor-to-floor height suits your particular application and the design, materials and finishes are to your specifications.
The display at Grand Designs was a simple, elegant stairwell that featured remote control LED lighting which created an amazing example of what can be done with a little imagination. The website features both classic stairways and those for the adventurous.

As a footnote – well done to the team at Diversified Exhibitions, great show, terrific consumers – see you in Melbourne later in the week!!
And whilst I’m being indulgent – Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter !!
