How much do I love Elica hoods? I could use up a whole blog post and it wouldn’t even come close to expressing how much I admire the out-of-the-box designs this company is consistently producing.
This is the new 35CC hood designed by Fabrizio Crisà from the Elica Design Center. The shape is made up of the intersection of two C-shaped shells – one coloured and one plain – which join to create a cube that measures just 35cm.
It may be compact but this gorgeous unit is high on performance with the extraction surface covering three sides and making it excellent at capturing fumes. Functionality and versatility combine with a choice of different types of extraction available – perimeter or with macro-perforated stainless steel.
The 35CC hood can be wall-mounted or suspended above an island and is available in both filter or extraction modes. With the wall mounted extraction version, you can choose between an elegant stainless steel flue or a bracket, which enables back aspiration if the vent hole is positioned at the rear of the product.
The colour choice of the outer shell varies according to the type of extraction chosen: in the Evoque version (perimeter extraction),
you can choose from white, orange, taupe or lilac. In the Dynamique version (direct extraction through stainless steel holes), the colours available are red, black, yellow and green.
Four LEDs with a total of 12W make for highly efficient lighting and ensures an intense light on the hob below. Extraction and lighting features are controlled by innovative electronic touch controls.
The end result is a distinctive product with strong characteristics within a simple design that is sure to enhance every kitchen environment.
Did I mention how much I love these products and, in particular, this design? Do you agree?
