Newly released this year at the International Bathroom Exhibition is the Bucket collection from Scarabeo Ceramica. Designed by architect Giovanna Talocci, the basins embody a quirky aesthetic with the “bucket” theme offered in a variety of sizes and decorative motifs.
The washbasins and washstands are offered in total white which emphasises the aesthetic form and allows for each to be characterised with a variety of designs including simple geometric patters as well as lace edging, swallows on a line, fish jumping from the water and many more.
Functionality hasn’t been forgotten with the handle of the bucket becoming the towel bar in both the wall-mounted and countertop versions. The collection’s clean, fresh lines and wide choice of decoration make Bucket a great choice for an informal room in a residential setting as well as an eye-catching item in a public area such as a restaurant, bar or club.
Did you see these on display at the Fair? Let us know what you think? I love that they are different and a little bit irreverent. I know they won’t work in every bathroom setting but I love that the designer has had a bit of fun with this collection and taken a bit of a risk when many manufacturers are still very much playing it safe in the bathroom arena.
