Opus Collection from Lithos Design

Mikado

The Opus Collection is an exciting, modern-day expression of industrial stone design applied to the art of inlay work and features 25 types of marble, five patterns and 12 colour ranges.

This new collection takes the classic idea of traditional marble inlay work and looks at how this decorative element can be applied in other areas. The debut collection features a variety of hues in a series of ready-for-use ensembles that are reminiscent of antique inlay work but have a modern edge.

Mikado (pictured above) is a sequence of 60 cm x 60 cm modules, with patterns that can be laid to suit the tastes and requirements of the designer and the client. It works on both walls and floors where the serial sequences show the material to its best advantage with the combination of continuous and non-continuous graphic shapes and scattered graphical compositions providing visual interest.

Lithos Design has provided cladding and floors ready for use with each module easy to lay and delivered in a completely finished form. The rendering and added value are the same as for a traditional work of inlay, but the designer is able to choose between different patters for different results. Applied vertically or horizontally, the designer has complete freedom to create symmetrical or asymmetrical results.

With this collection Lithos Design has switched its production focus from a sculptural approach to one which is more pictorial and has committed to the search for true three-dimensional results.

This is a stunning release from Lithos Design – what are your thoughts?
