Why not “butter” up your customers

I know a lot of you scour the four corners of the globe for ideal gifts for your customers (and I have to say that not all the time do they hit the mark!) However I think this one could for the right client.

As the press release says “Yet another home-made food trend that is gaining traction is butter – plain, salted and flavoured, savoury and sweet. Most of us have forgotten how easy it is to make and also how good it tastes to eat fresh butter made from natural  products – all you actually need is cream and any flavourings you would like.”Chef'n Buttercup sequence

Chef’n, an innovative American kitchen accessory brand, has decided to remind us by releasing the Buttercup Butter Maker – a simple, transparent container that makes butter from cream in about three minutes! The Buttercup Butter Maker comprises a clear, BPA-free container with a screwtop-lid and an integrated strainer. You simply add a cup of pouring cream at room temperature, screw on the lid and shake until the cream turns solid and separates from the buttermilk – it really does take just three minutes or less.Chef'n Buttercup in use

Any flavourings, such as roasted garlic, lemon and chopped parsley, sage, a few sprinkles of chilli, honey, maple syrup, etc are added to the cream before the shaking starts. Once the cream has solidified, unscrew the lid, drain off the buttermilk (this can be saved for baking) and run cold water over the solidified cream. The strainer makes it easy to thoroughly ‘flush’ the butter and drain it simultaneously. At this stage, salt can be added if required.Chef'n Buttercup

The screw top doubles as a ramekin for the butter – so the whole process is completed without ever having to touch the butter. It is a home-made treat that children will also love to make. The butter can then be used immediately or kept in the refrigerator for several days. The Chef’n Buttercup makes it easy to add signature touches when entertaining – think honey butter for breakfast ricotta hotcakes, garlic butter for a fresh baguette at lunch or parsley and lemon butter for a juicy steak at dinner.

The clever little Buttercup Butter Maker is available nationally from David Jones and selected kitchenware retailers $27.95. Contact DKSH (the distributor) on 02 9425 5000 for details on nearest stockists.
