For a brand new sink, but with a touch of old fashioned style, take a look at the “Vintage” sink from German manufacturer Schock.
The company says its new sink is a response to the popularity of retro-style interior design without homeowners needing to invest in costly genuine antiques. To meet this interior design trend, Schock’s “Vintage” sink becomes a stylistic match to other shabby-chic or modern-vintage elements.
A new, patented formula sees the sink cast with targeted irregularities in the surface. The result is an effect reminiscent of wear-and-tear thanks to the unique surfaces Cristadur® and Cristalite® Plus. Finished in a fashionable brown the sinks feature worn areas in which a metal effect dominates.
The new colourway reveals its full potential when interacting with light which allows the pleasantly-uneven colouring to make a visual impact.
“The vintage look is currently one of the leading trend styles in interior design. Characteristic of the furniture used is real or artificially-created signs of age and wear, such as flaked-off areas and seemingly untreated materials. Our new sink surface harmonises perfectly with natural materials and colours and is the ideal addition to any vintage kitchen. However, it can of course also be used as a conscious contrast in other interior styles”, comments Sven-Michael Funck, Marketing and Export Director at Schock.
The new Vintage colourway is available from January 2015 throughout the world with all Cristadur® and Cristalite® Plus designs.
