ISH Preview – Scarabeo

Mizu, by Emo Design, is an elegant ceramic washbasin. In a re-think of the object’s traditional architecture, an innovative take on the drain is the central feature of the design. The volume of the washbasin is defined by the shape and lines of the external shell which is then enhanced by this very thin, very light “cut” through the centre, under which the drain hole is hidden.

Scarabeo Ceramiche - Anteprima ISH_immagine_20150119122935_lrAccording to the company, Mizu goes beyond the classical interpretation of a washbasin in which the drain hole was clearly visible. For maximum aesthetics, the drain hole is now concealed or disguised allowing the basin’s smooth lines to shine.

Mizu is available in either round shape (diam. 44 cm) or rectangular shape (44×70 cm) and can be installed as a free standing unit or recessed.
