“The New Zealand shower specialist Methven claims to have developed a pioneering new showering technology with Aurajet – a patented design developed for the Aio range that is said to deliver 20% more spray force, while using just nine litres of water a minute. “(This is from the UK press release)
“The range includes a number of different shower heads. The material is also water-resistant, which the company says helps to reduce lime scale and make cleaning easier. The range also comes with a lifetime warranty.”But here’s the kicker – Methven Australia confirmed to TKBB today that the Aurajet product isn’t available in Australia because it doesn’t meet the Australian Standards! It would appear from further investigations that perhaps they may have chose not to put it through the WELS certification process knowing that there was (in its current format) little chance of receiving a decent rating.
Which is a shame because this shower looks superb. Methven did however confirm that they are trying to have it approved – obviously with changes.
Stay tuned!
