“Terre di Cielo” is an exclusive color range designed by Cielo which celebrates modern shapes and clean lines, and is based on a variety of unique colours inspired by nature. This colour range has been recognised by the German Design Council with a German Design Award 2015: Excellent Product Design.
The German Design Awards are a prestigious international design competition in which the Stuttgart-based design committee chooses award recipients based on several criteria including production quality, level of innovation, brand value, functionality, ergonomics and ecological sustainability.
In 2015, 10 categories were established to allow the awards series to represent the variety of design across all aspects of daily life. From the 10 category winners, a single “gold prize winner” is selected.
We’ve met Cielo before on this blog, numerous times, and for good reason. A top-quality manufacturer of Italian ceramic products, Cielo is internationally renowned for its contemporary bathroom products designed by a wealth of prestigious international designers.
Cielo produces collections of washbasins, sanitary ware, showers and furniture in a total of 18 finishes. The goal with “Terre di Cielo” was to introduce a range of new colours through a process of experimentation to understand the essence and origin of each colour. Cielo studied each color’s relationship with nature to apply it to its ceramic products and explore how colour can play a role in architecture.
Inspired by nature, the “Terre di Cielo” collection includes 12 different intense colors: Basalto, Brina, Pomice, Talco, Cacao, Tabacco, Arenaria, Tufo, Muschio, Salvia, Agave, Limo.
