Renowned designer Philippe Starck has created his own version of the New England/east-coast USA style known as “Cape Cod”. He even designed the collection from his own house on the beach (nice work if you can get it!).
The collection comprises a range of products, all designed to work harmoniously, including wash bowls, bathtubs and bathroom furniture that can be combined individually and positioned where required. Cape Cod utilises a combination of solid wood and an innovative ceramic formula that allows for especially thin and delicate wash bowls.
The basins are produced in DuraCeram, a specially-developed, high-strength ceramic mass which makes it possible to create countertop basins with a rim thickness of only five millimetres, Easy to maintain and incredibly robust and impact-resistant, the basins are available in three shapes: round, square and tri-oval.
Partnering the basins are consoles with shelves that boast a timeless, modern design and make clever use of the contrast between the floor-standing frame in chrome and four exclusive wood finishes: Vintage Oak, American Walnut, European Oak, and White Beech. As an alternative to the wood finishes, a high-gloss white surface is also available with doors and shelves on the side.
The Cape Cod bathtubs were designed with relaxation in mind with an ergonomic headrest providing a serene bathing experience. The tub is designed as a monolith and is produced from a new material, DuraSolid A, which offers a pleasantly warm feel and high-quality matt appearance. Available as a free-standing model, back-to-wall model or corner version for left or right, the bathtub can also be equipped with a discretely integrated air whirl system and/or an integrated Bluetooth-compatible sound system.
