This is the stunning Fontane Bianche collection, designed by Elisa Ossino for Salvatori, and described as “the experience of antique flavour lands”.
The company tells me the collection will be available from November all over the world which, presumably, includes Australia.
Purity and simplicity are the hallmarks of this collection, which pays homage to the white sands of the eponymous beach in Elisa’s native Sicily. Fontane Bianche, or White Fountains in English, is an area in Siracusa noted for its rivulets of fresh water, which run into the Mediterranean and the clean sculpted lines of the collection recall this natural phenomenon.
Fontane Bianche comprises three basins and a series of modular drawers and floating shelves in gleaming white Bianco Carrara marble, which evokes the clarity of the Sicilian sun. Finishing touches, including the interior of the shelves, tapware and pantograph mirrors are provided in burnished pewter.
The main room of the Salvatori showroom in Milan is the stage for the debut of the collection, and has been transformed into a dazzling theatre set featuring geometric shapes in black and white.
