A while ago we wrote about Antoniolupi’s shower head, the Metro RA – and wasn’t that a stunning unit! This inspired design organisation continues to deliver some gorgeous creations and this one, I think, is one of their best – the Mateo XXL.
Recently added to their shower head range collection, larger in size and designed to create a rainy ceiling, the functional characteristic of this shower head aside from its unique styling and the two waterfalls with 4 vaporizers and a parametric heat barrier made with a double row of staggered nozzles.
This configuration favours an installation even in bathrooms without a traditional shower enclosure thanks to the delimitation generated by the heat barrier. The two waterfalls have an oblique jet to meet in the centre where another nozzle generates a hard jet that appears as a nail.
As in the other models light contributes via LED which can be remotely controlled (although I can’t find out if the remote control is waterproof!), enhanced by the nebulisers, to give volume to the space and responsiveness to the elements.
Owners of the recently launched kitchen division called “lacucina” this is another example of why this family run, 60 year old Tuscan design and manufacturing based giant are so good at what they do.
