The swinging sixties!!! Well need I say anymore? War was well and truly over, life was getting back to normal and all I can think is Austin Powers!!11

Life in the 1960’s was essentially becoming less rigid and change was occurring. People’s attitudes and opinions were more relaxed and the fashion of the time reflected this.

The kitchen of the 1960’s got bigger, about time I hear you say. The focus of having larger appliances and more entertaining space were evident.

The 1960s kitchen …. Fashion Funky prints and patterns were a fashion must have33

As you can see from the picture above bubble gum colours were no longer and the bright and the bold were taking over. Funky prints and patterns were a fashion must have, not sure if it is exactly my taste but those were the days. Apparently this was classified as the London look, which was taking into consideration various artists of the period.

The 60’s kitchen was all about making a statement44

Again you can see the bold statement kitchen of the 1960’s; various patterns and bright units also maybe even a bit of minimalism creeping in there.

Being honest I am not sure what to think of the 1960’s kitchen. However it is nice to see that the kitchen further developed, I really do hope the 1970’s doesn’t disappoint.55

I’m sure he approved though…”
