KBDi judges: The judges were most impressed by the surprising warmth of this predominately grey kitchen. Some unique materials were combined with stunning effect, and a very clever design allows seamless flow between indoors and outdoors.

KBDi judges: The designer has created a wonderful solution for what could only be described as an awkward space. A lovely combination of materials has been applied in this classically styled bathroom that is sure to stand the test of time.

KBDi judges: The designer had an awkward space to work with, but successfully reconfigured a number of small, inefficient rooms into a unified, liveable and attractive living and kitchen area. For a long kitchen, the designer has presented a great solution.

KBDi judges: The designer’s clever use of curves maximised the potential of a very small space, while a brave colour scheme adds vibrancy and energy. The client’s well-defined brief for a ‘non-standard, non-boring’ kitchen creation was certainly met by the designer.

KBDi judges: A dynamic splashback and well-balanced colour scheme enlivened this small space and caught the attention of each of the judges. Subtle design detailing did not go unnoticed, with the judging panel describing this kitchen as a ‘visual delight’.

KBDi judges: The judges loved this modern interpretation of art deco style: a lovely combination of tiles, laminate and solid surface materials and carefully considered space planning have made this an excellent re-creation of a redundant space.

KBDi judges: This stylish entertainer’s kitchen successfully met the client’s brief: he wanted a kitchen with ‘plenty of wow’ and an impressive bar area for his top shelf liquor and wine collections, and this designer ticked all the boxes!

KBDi judges: This big, bold kitchen is balanced and harmonic. The designer cleverly manipulated a difficult space to create a kitchen that accommodates a family of eager cooks, and finished it with style and elegance.

KBDi judges: The challenges that often present themselves in apartment refurbishments did not stump this designer. A number of structural columns were cleverly concealed and the design solution for this large kitchen space was thought through very well.

KBDi judges: An awkward L-shaped layout and an unusual request for a steam shower were just two of the challenges successfully dealt with in this design. The clients wanted a bright, contemporary bathroom with a resort feel, and the designer delivered!
