Displayed at this year’s Marmomacc, “Unica” sideboard is designed by Michele Cazzani for Franchi Umberto Marmi. With stunning architectural form, the company says the sideboard – also called a console – is not simply a piece of furniture. It’s designed as an integral part of the architecture of the home.
The designer’s aim was to create a storage facility into which much-loved items can be placed but an item that also adds to the sense of design within the home. Unica features Calacatta marble in a block format to best show off the beauty of this natural material.
At the rear of the image you can also see Michele Cazzani’s Mito seats which showcase the stunning Gioia marble which also comes from the company’s own quarries in Carrara.
It’s fitting that this stunning product was released by this company at this time – Franchi Umberto Marmi has long been known in the international stone market for the quality and exclusivity of the materials it produces from its quarries.
Unica measures w:286cm x d:62cm x h:67cm and features veneered black walnut with hand-brushed brass finishes, a push/pull opening system and Calacatta marble chosen by the architect at the quarry. Each door has been cut at 45 degrees with a knife to produce the effect of a rollaway shutter.
