I love it when we see real-life installations of kitchens we’ve seen at exhibitions either here or overseas and this is a great example of the Minà collection in Milan. We first met Mina in various forms at Eurocucina in 2014 and, since its release, the kitchen design has been featured in settings in some of the world’s most prestigious settings including Milan, Stockholm and London.
Situated in a typical Milan’s palace on Navigli’s banks, this small apartment has been stunningly renovated by a couple of Milanese architects. The kitchen, a bright room that overlooks the internal courtyard, is characterised by a ceramic tiles floor and restoration of the original walls.
The owners decided to insert a Minà kitchen that stands out from the ash grey of the walls thanks to its white tonality. Of particular note is the use of the company’s Mammut extractor hood in its white version, which gives a space age touch to this room where vintage and design meet.
This Minà kitchen has a wall-based layout. The luminous design is accentuated by the choice of Bianco as the colour for the base units. The white is accented with the bright red of the unmistakeable vintage-style knobs that distinguish the cooktop and sink. The Grafite Mammut hood, which features an industrial look, stands out against the elegant Wall-play panelling in HDF finish.
The dining area, furnished with the Torciglione table and Luigi XVI chairs in Fumo di Londra finish, is lit by an 8-light Anemone fixture. Minà tall units are fully accessorised and hold the refrigerator and freezer, oven and pull-out baskets, creating an organised storage area where everything is in its place and within easy reach. This need for functionality is the reason for choosing the Wall-play system, a wood panel that can be equipped with utensil rails and shelves, all made of steel.
