Ten contestants in five teams taking on one apartment – it can only be The Block Apartment Challenge.
This week The Block contestants faced their toughest challenge yet: working together to renovate all ten rooms in one apartment on The Blocktagon. Ebony and Luke were in charge of the most important room – the heart of the home: the kitchen. The siblings took inspiration from the cafes of Melbourne, opting for an on-trend, airy space with a relaxed feel.
Quartz surface specialists, Cosentino together with The Good Guys Kitchens, worked with Ebony and Luke to create this modern, functional space. The challenge was to ensure the kitchen flowed seamlessly within the eclectic range of styles applied to all rooms in the apartment.
The Block Apartment Challenge saw Ebony and Luke combine a mix of textures and surfaces, using black furniture-like framework in the central kitchen area which cleverly breaks up the soft delicate palette yet ties in with the walk-through butler’s pantry that borders the main kitchen.
Utilising the range of colours and textures in Cosentino’s Silestone product range, the siblings settled on the beautiful white tones of Silestone Ariel from the new Nebula Alpha collection for the island benchtop. This is complemented by the deep, dark tones of Silestone Calypso to bring the modern design to life.
Cosentino’s innovative range of stone, quartz and recycled surfaces offers a range of stylish colour tones and modern finishes. Highly resistant to stains, knocks and scratches, Cosentino’s surfaces are the perfect choice to ensure living spaces, such as the kitchen, look perfect.
