Our AIDT 2016 Tour group has arrived safely in Milan with, luckily, no travelling mishaps. The hotel has been wonderfully accommodating of our large group and is very conveniently located with the metro station (Lima) quite literally outside the front door. We’re also a short walk from what our taxi driver told us was the best 4kms of shopping in Milan.
At the front of the hotel is a coffee shop which became our unofficial meeting spot – we could see tour members as they arrived and we soon took over, adding tables and chairs as we went along.
We started our trip with a welcome dinner and drinks, sponsored by Asko. The hotel offered us exclusive access to a brilliant rooftop courtyard and Milan spoilt us by providing the perfect weather – clear blue skies and a stunning spring day. We were joined by Crt Prasnikar, Managing Director, ASKO Appliances Australia and Marta Nazarewicz, National Retail Channel Manager, ASKO Appliances Australia – plus they brought along a special guest, Adam Liaw of Masterchef fame.
We finished with a lovely three-course meal in the hotel restaurant where our tour members had a chance to relax and get to know each other a bit better.
This morning we assembled in the hotel foyer and traveled together as a group to the show on the metro. Not a small task to keep 36 high spirited Aussies in line but we managed to all arrive without losing anyone! And everyone remembered their metro tickets and show passes.
We have all dispersed to spend the day in the halls most suited to our businesses but it’s surprising in a place of this size how often we are running into each other. Tonight we are excited to head to the Axor showroom in the heart of Milan for the “Water Dream” presentation then on to the Cesar showroom, located just a few steps from the Duomo.
Don’t forget to follow the tour on Facebook via either the AIDT page or our blog page. You can also see a variety of images from in and around the show on TKBB’s Instagram feed. Look for the #aidt2016 hashtag.
More tomorrow…..
