New Smeg wine cellars

These stunning new Smeg wine cellars were presented earlier this year at Eurocucina 2016 and were designed to furnish the kitchens of lovers of good wine.

Smeg wine cellarsIn line with the company philosophy that through the language of design allows the technological contents to be appreciated, the new wine cellars follow the aesthetic codes of the new Dolce Stil Novo line and the iconic Classica line: the former adopts an elegant Eclypse glass panel which, trimmed in copper or stainless steel on the upper and lower edges in the 45 cm version or applied to the vertical handle in the 82 cm under-counter version, makes the door a continuous surface with a strong visual impact.

Smeg wine cellarsThe Classica aesthetic interprets stainless steel with the greatest stylistic rigour where large bands, alternated with the central glass panel, are interrupted in the 45 cm version only by a compact display and in the under-counter version by a more elongated display.

The new Smeg wine cellars take advantage of the most advanced technologies to control the chemical and biological phenomena to which they are subject. The materials used in their design are the result of expert research, in collaboration with expert sommeliers who have contributed to producing a range of products with excellent technical and qualitative features.

Smeg wine cellarsThanks to the high precision of the electronic control, a constant temperature can be set in the Smeg wine cellars, even when there are variations in the external temperature. In addition, the intuitive digital display, on the external glass panel, allows displaying the temperature and changing it, without influencing the conditions of the environment inside the cellar.

The space recovered from the innovative position of the display is distributed between the shelves which, further apart, can hold bottles with shapes other than the classic Bordeaux bottle: 18 bottles for the 45 cm module and 38 bottles for the 82 cm version. The formal clean line of the doors is obtained through new opening systems: in particular in the 45 cm recessed version, a push-pull mechanism allows opening it with slight pressure.

Smeg wine cellarsThe Eclypse glass panels screen off harmful UV rays but allow maximum transparency when the lights are switched on and complete darkness when they are switched off for a result with a high visual impact.

The removable and extractable shelves are made from Slavonian oak and are shaped to allow safely housing transversally even bottles such as champagnottes or magnums. Smeg wine cellars have a cooling system which reduces vibrations to a minimum while the shelves, with controlled sliding thanks to telescopic rails, make it easy to remove the bottles from the cellar practically and safely, avoiding friction or sudden movements.
