Introducing eight new finishes to further expand the Terri di Cielo colour range which now includes 16 sophisticated hues inspired by nature. The eight new finishes are Flax, Oat, Concrete, Mud, Slate, Hemp, Cipria, and Polvere.
“Terre di Cielo – Second Edition 2013–2016” is the fruit of Cielo’s complex, in-depth research. The first in the industry, in 2013, Cielo started to study and experiment with the colors of the earth and plant and mineral elements, seeking to understand their essence, their relationship with nature and role in architecture, and the company was inspired to introduce these new colors in bathroom spaces.
Nature also inspired the relationship between the color and texture of each finish, through an innate connection with the material and the strong value of the traditional relationship between ceramic and glazes. Using an exacting scientific process, the traditional chemical composition of glazes was adapted into the extensive “Terre di Cielo” line, conceived to give interior designers and architects a practical new work tool. The goal is to give voice to the clients’ expressive freedom by offering them complete customszation, letting them choose the colors to apply to any of the ceramic products of Cielo’s main collections, or create their own color for especially important projects.
All products are made with “Terre di Cielo“ finishes are checked and finished entirely by hand by expert craftspeople. The colors are tested to withstand immersion in acid for 48 hours, ensuring that the ceramic is impregnable.
In recognition of this collection’s highly distinctive quality, it has received two prestigious international awards: the German Design Award 2015: Excellent Product Design and the MIAW: MUUZ International Award 2014.
