Smeg and Dolce & Gabbana unveiled the fruits of their latest collaboration on the first day of the Milan Design Fair, Salone del Mobile di Milano. “Sicily is my Love” is a new and unique collection produced by Smeg and showcasing the unmistakable – and highly covetable – Dolce & Gabbana decorative style.
The only appliance brand to integrate ‘haute couture’ with home cooking, Smeg’s new collection further demonstrates its affinity with such iconic and revered designers as Dolce & Gabbana.
Toasters, coffee machines, kettles, blenders and stand mixers are richly decorated with the fruits and symbols of Sicily – think golden lemons, prickly pears and bright red cherries – framed in triangular ‘crocchi’ motifs.
Other patterns include florals inspired by the coasts and landscapes of Southern Italy; images of Mt. Etna: the ruins of the Greek temple of Castor and Pollux in the Valley of Temples; and the famous trinacria (as seen on the Sicilian flag).
Sicily is my Love, Smeg’s new collection of Made in Italy small appliances, epitomises the symbols and traditional artworks of Sicily which is, of course, the home of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. It also highlights the synergy of the two most enduring passions of the Smeg brand – good food and excellent design.
Australian availability of the Sicily is my Love small appliances collection – and RRPs – are not known at this time.
