Get to know KBDi

Over the next few weeks we’ll be introducing our industry partners – in this instalment here’s a chance to get to know KBDi a bit better.

KBDi is Australia’s premier industry organisation for kitchen and bathroom designers. The association was established in 2008 and is committed to supporting designers, educating consumers and providing networking opportunities.

KBDi supports committed kitchen and bathroom designers with professional development, business-to-business networking, industry advocacy and more.

The association aims to inform consumers about the value of engaging professional, committed designers.  This is achieved via consumer-focussed campaigns and with ‘face-to-face’ liaison at Australian Home Shows.

KBDi members benefit from a multitude of opportunities to stay at the top of their profession including ongoing professional development, professional pathways, design and business resources, a consumer-targeted website, and representation in the media.

Being a KBDi Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD Au) and/or a Certified Bathroom Designer (CBD Au), represents excellence in kitchen and bathroom design. Accreditation is available to members who meet set criteria and is maintained through continuing professional development.

Because design is an ever-changing profession, KBDi sees great value in facilitating continued professional development tailored to suit kitchen and bathroom designers. Skill and knowledge seminars are offered at KBDi conferences and design symposiums, and its Education Partner, Designer Training Australia, provides relevant learning opportunities and courses. Professional Development resources are also made available to members online, ensuring regional members share the same opportunities as urban members.

From student support (with a dedicated membership category for those studying an approved course) to mentor opportunities and an accreditation program, KBDi offers professional pathways for members who show enthusiasm for and commitment to the kitchen and bathroom design industry.
