The interior of the SJW FuturePOD is completely transformable to make the space flexible and accommodating to many needs. The Italian-made Dotto Wall Bed is a large, two-person study desk by day but, with one easy movement, the bed can be pulled down with no need to move any objects from the desk. A fully-rotational smart TV can be viewed from the two-person desk, consulting lounge or the outdoor spa allowing for fully-customisable transformation from day to night.
There are four unique FuturePOD designs available which can be modified and customised to suit the site, orientation and functional needs.
St James Whitting’s timber of choice is paulownia – a sustainably-grown and -harvested hardwood that is light, dimensionally stable and easy to work with. The interior and exterior UBIQ cladding and deck are painted in Resene VOC-Free products while the lining board colours are from Australia’s first no-VOC UV-cured coating with a lanolin-enriched oil-based stain. St James Shitting believes all interiors should enhance the health and wellbeing of their clients so they specify and use only the most environmentally-sustainable, eco-friendly products and practices. All FuturePOD suppliers are selected for the material properties, design aesthetics and affordable price point to ensure that all FuturePODs provide a better environment to live in.
Although the SJW FuturePOD is designed to be fully portable, it is also carefully designed and engineered to meet the Building Code of Australia (BCA) construction requirements for exempt development in NSW.
