As previewed at this year’s Salone Bagno in Milan, this is the stunningly sinuous Falper Wave basin, which personifies elegance and simplification. The Wave basin is part of a range of products released by Falper at the show which express the company’s stylistic signature of quality, design, and unmistakable style.
Minimalism and a celebration of rich materials were the main themes in the many product lines presented at Salone Bagno and reflect the company’s ongoing partnerships with some of the most prestigious Italian and international design names.
The Wave basin is described as being “like a wave that is about to pass”. The contrast between the external squared lines and the soft sinuosity of the central downward slope defines and highlights the edges of the basin. The contrasts between the hard and soft linear elements create a liaison between the two material used – the purity of the solid surface at the rear is accentuated by the veins of Carrara marble.
The two materials touch but do not intersect in a union that gently allows the water to flow along the central area and escape at the rear. The Wave basin combines aesthetic taste with the exaltation of functionality in brand new forms and is the creation of architect Victor Vasilev who has a long history of partnering with Falper to produce beautiful pieces.
Victor Vasilev’s design ideas are inspired by the continuous search for formal and material purity – and his collaborations have helped him win several international awards. Matter,
inspiration and usability merge under the guidance of geometry to delineate a language where nothing is left to chance and where the attention to detail emerges strongly, reaching an indisputable visual and practical coherence.
The Wave basin measures 120cm wide by 48cm deep and 10cm high.
