Milanese architectural studio Storagemilano has partnered with Ceramica Bardelli for the launch of its sophisticated Lines collection at Cersaie 2018.
Cersaie 2018 was the first collaboration between the two firms and saw the architectural trio interpret new trends in the broader furniture and design industries with the new Lines collection which evokes their distinctive architectural approach and aesthetic taste.
Lines is the name of the rectified porcelain tiles collection with a “concrete” effect for both walls and floors. The new product comes in two versions – flat or three-dimensional with a brick effect – enriched by brass or steel strips which creates and elegant graphic decoration.
The collection can be mixed and matched to create innumerable installation patterns allowing each design to be unique and always different. By placing the modules side-by-side, the design that is capable of changing or adapting according to the space that welcomes it.
Storagemilano took inspiration for this collection from Sol Lewitt’s Wall drawings, a form of art based on the relationship between visual art and architecture, between sign and space in large wall drawings, that embrace the entire surrounding space.
The material inspiration comes from the contrast between rough surface of cement and the decorated surface of metal, a contrast between poor and rich, craftsmanship and industrial, luxurious and sober material. It is precisely the juxtaposition of different materials that gives the collection its unique character in three families of extreme contemporary colors: light grey, anthracite, mud.
