2018 has seen the announcement of four Iconic Awards for Scarabeo Ceramiche for its Frame, Glam, Teorema 2.0 and UP basin designs.
Supported for more than 60 years by the German Design Council, the Iconic Awards contest identifies the best products of the year in order to promote quality in interior decoration through functional design. As with every year, an international jury of experts from the world of design and journalism chose the most significant products based on criteria such as concept, innovation, design quality, functionality, practicality and ergonomics.
The Best of the Best – the most important prize of the contest – for the Bathroom Furniture Collection category was awarded to Frame 120, the new bathroom system designed by Emo Design. Frame 120 is characterised by the combination of wood tones and structural metal sections to create a functional and extremely versatile solution.
The Selection award for the Washbasin category was given to two Scarabeo products. The first is Teorema 2.0, a 120 cm washbasin with a right-hand shelf. Teorema 2.0 features a stunningly simple, elegant shape with a thin edge of only 6 mm which highlights the geometric shape.
Glam 76R designed by Emo Design, was the second recipient of the Selection award in the Washbasin category. Glam 76R is a new washbasin with a delicate, refined design and very thin edges that gives the basin a very light, almost floating appeal.
In the Kitchen Sink category, Scarabeo was awarded its third Selection award for a new kitchen sink called UP, created by Emo Design. UP is an innovative product with a unique raised edge that was designed to be a stark contrast to today’s minimalist style of kitchen and bring back an essence of tradition. UP was intended as a decorative element for the kitchen with its central focus offering a unique and personal touch.
