Tricoya from Gunnersen

Tricoya from Gunnersen sets a new benchmark in alfresco kitchens and wet area cabinetry. As a high performance, wood-based panel product, it demonstrates outstanding durability and dimensional stability in the most extreme and challenging environments.

Suitable for both exterior as well as interior, wet and high-moisture applications, Tricoya from Gunnersens is the only cabinet board product with a 50-year above-ground and 25-year in-ground warranty.

Traditionally used in outdoor applications and for alfresco kitchens, the kitchen industry has discovered its versatility in the area of indoor kitchens, primarily for kickboards and sink cabinet bottoms. Here it can be used with great success as, unlike a PVC board which can warp or twist, Tricoya is essentially a waterproof MDF product. Although more expensive than the PVC option, Tricoya’s durability and functionality ensures it will last the lifetime of the kitchen.

The design industry loves Tricoya because of its endless design applications – it can be cut-to-size, sanded, machined, and coated the same as any other high-performing wood fibreboard, without impacting on its unique properties. Its enhanced stability means swelling and shrinking are dramatically reduced and it is an effective barrier to fungal decay.

The product is sustainably sourced and is FSC certified. Unlike compact laminate, Tricoya can be painted or coated in any colour making it easy for designers and cabinetmakers to match and select the perfect colour.

Tricoya is highly adaptable and can be specified for wet-area cabinetry, shower and toilet cubicles, or wet interiors such as changing rooms. It is equally at home in a residential setting as in a commercial environment.

The product was recently featured on the Channel 7 program “House Rules” with both finalists using Tricoya in outdoor applications where a product was required that could withstand the harsh Australian conditions.
