A new collection of marble furniture pieces was previewed by Dedalo at the recent iSalone fair held in Milan, Italy. Three new pieces took centre stage – an elegant spa system, a cool pool table and a stunning island bench.
The spa system is featured in Elegant Grey marble and extra-clear glass. It comprises a Hydra bathtub and shower tray integrated into the wall covering. The sinuous shapes create a free-flowing movement that catches the eye while also providing an integrated way to divide the room in two.
The pool table is the company’s Quadra model seen in Iceberg Blue marble on a back-lit onyx floor. Both the spa system and the pool table won the Best Communicator Award in Design category at the Verona international exhibition MarmoMac 2018.
The third item featured is a magnificent kitchen island bench with a full covering of Onyx Hone striped marble, which has been backlit. The bench was designed and made in Dedalo’s Carrara-based factory and installed in Hollywood.
Dedalo was founded in 2012 as a company to design and realise monolithic, elegant furnishing objects in marble with a contemporary design. All its products are made from single slabs of marble so there are no join marks. Although monolithic pieces, they are actually very light because the interior stone material is removed, leaving a layer approximately 5-7mm thick. The cavity is then filled with an epoxy resin blended with a glassy paste which makes the products extremely resistant to compression as the filler adheres perfectly to the stone without changing the colour of the stone.
Dedalo’s patented technology reduces the weight of the products by approximately 65 per cent making not only the installation of the products much easier but also transport and handling costs are reduced. It also reduces the breakage risk during installation.
