VOLA 111 washbasin mixer

The VOLA 111 washbasin mixer, designed by Arne Jacobson for the Danish design brand, recently won the 2019 German Design Award. An icon of quality, sustainability and elegant craftsmanship, the single handle built-in mixer with ceramic disc technology and fixed spout was first recognised in 1969 for its excellent design at the ID Prisen Awards.

VOLA 111With a purely-formed silhouette, the VOLA 111 mixer is still instantly recognisable even 50 years since it was first launched, a testament to its timeless design. The VOLA 111 is the foundation of the flexible VOLA modular design system that allows the tap to be customised with handles, plates and spouts and finished with 26 unique colours (including metallic) to suit a specific project space.

VOLA 111All components are handcrafted in Denmark using techniques that have been perfected since 1968 and, because VOLA products utilise the same design system, parts are still available for products produced 50 years ago.

VOLA 111The company says the VOLA 111 was the first tap to hide its functional parts within the wall, only revealing the spout and handle, for a clean, streamlined (and very modern for its time) finish.

VOLA 111The mixer can be used in the bathroom or kitchen has international accreditation which makes worldwide installation possible. Its design credentials have seen the VOLA 111 mixer selected for such centres of architecture and design including the Museum of Modern Art, the Kunstgewerbemuseum, the Cologne Cincinnati Art Museum and the Neue Sammlung.

The VOLA 111 is available via select specialist kitchen, bathroom and laundry retailers, or via the brand new VOLA showrooms in Melbourne.
