Water has long held a fascination for designers. It’s uniqueness often challenges design and designers to develop products that can not only contain it, but transform it and apply it for a range of purposes. Projects in the past have utilised such devices as geometrical shapes and volumes together with a range of materials to celebrate the transparency of water, to channel its beneficial power, and to enhance and guarantee well-being.
With Kosmo, antoniolupi has gone beyond this construct with a design that shapes the water without containing it. Thanks to the use of air and the particular arrangement of the nozzles, the Kosmo showerhead can shape water. The company says the shower “gives life to a particular jet that refers to the image of soap bubbles that are formed thanks to a light breath, to marine jellyfish that move ethereally between the waves, to a fountain of water in which the gushes that originate from the center describe a hemispherical shell of water that gradually dissolves during its fall”.
