The Nendo Collection, designed by Nendo for the Bisazza Bagno Collection, lends a sense of understated sophistication and polish to the bathroom setting.
From the bathtub to the sinks, drawers and more, each piece appears to be “encased” in a box. The line is complemented by a rich selection of accessories including clocks, shelves and mirrors, each designed to serve a dual purpose.
The Nendo Collection uses larch wood, a natural material with warm, golden hues. The warmth of the larch wood balances the clean, minimalist lines of the Nendo designs; when paired together, these elements create a welcoming and serene environment.
The two key parts of the strategy are details that present the different elements as though they have been stored together in a box, and elements that go together well when used in multiples – like a tray placed inside the basin that becomes an island for objects that need to be kept dry, the Ofuro bathtub with external storage boxes that complement each other.
Alongside the angular, wooden pieces include unique decorative items such as a mirror that has pieces removed in different places to mimic the effect of pools of water.
Oki Sato, the head of Nendo, described the inspiration for the Collection as bringing back the open bathrooms of Japan that were a place for communication and families to bath together to an environment that is very private and functional but has the sense of ‘gathering’ – a silent yet comfortable space that enables you to communicate with yourself, just like the traditional tea rooms in Japan.
