Mosaico+ has revealed its new tile collection – Mist, a modular mosaic designed by Kensaku Oshiro with a stunning new take on horizontal/vertical combinations.
Mist is made of float glass rectangular chips in three different sizes and mounted on glass fibre mesh to form a sheet of 310x320mm. The sheets are engineered to be assembled together through a thorough interlocking system of chips that results in an unending pattern.
Thanks to the different joint sizes, two orders of elements – one horizontal and the other vertical – are visually overlapped on two levels and which one the eye perceives will depend on the viewpoint.
The collection includes different horizontal (2mm) and vertical (4mm) grout which is obtained during the installation and use of 4mm and 2mm spacers and the tiles are available in six colours – Snow, Frost, Peach, Paprika, Avio and Pepper.
Designer Kensaku Oshiro was led on a passionate search for the laws of visual perception to create Mist which just like fog suspended in air reveals its form, Mist unveils new ways of reading a surface within its spatial dimension, enriched by an innovative sense of depth.
