Understanding the effect great lighting and accessories can have in a space, Living Edge has recently expanded its portfolio to include the brands Tom Dixon, Muuto and Lambert & Fils.
Tom Dixon
Living Edge has recently welcomed the brilliant works of Tom Dixon, a restless innovator and widely celebrated global force. Rich in narrative and favoured for his luxurious and sculptural silhouettes, the new collections continue to reflect these qualities across products from Melt, Swirl, Void, Spring, Opal and Mirror.
Melt – The show stopping Melt collection was inspired by Dixon’s idea of creating an imperfect, organic and naturalistic lighting object. In collaboration with FRONT, Melt is reminiscent of molten glass, the interior of a melting glacier, or images of deep space.
Swirl – Swirl is a series of geometric forms that are stacked upon one another to create multidimensional, functional sculptures. Swirl can be described as a family of candle holders, bookends and vases – each with their own distinct silhouette, colouration and personality.
Opal – The Opal collection is made of a semi-translucent family of globes using a custom recipe of tinted white Opalescent polycarbonate. The Opal globes maintain an ethereal ghostliness in the daylight and at night form a perfectly illuminated sphere.
Muuto
Muuto represents the best of Scandinavian design today and offers lighting and accessories of contemporary design and honest expression. Muuto expands on strong design tradition and constantly seeks new and original perspectives are enjoyed across the world.
Unfold – Bringing a modern touch to a room, Muuto’s Unfold lighting collection is a quirky tale on the industrial pendant lampshade and creates an interesting sense of contract with its industrial appearance mixed with the soft rubber shade.
E27 – The E27 collection of pendant lights gives a design makeover to the simple, naked bulb. E27 departs from the essence of a lamp – the socket – creating a simple yet strong object that celebrates the potential beauty in simplicity.
Lambert & Fils
Montreal based lighting design studio, Lambert & Fils offers original and custom lamps that take cues from mid-century Modernism, the Industrial Age, and founder Samuel Lambert’s own minimalist aesthetic. Lambert & Fils collections revisit iconic motifs across the range of these influences and are distinctive on their own.
Laurent – The Laurent collection distils the milk globe to its essential relationship between circle and sphere. A series of thin forms that carve through space, moving between lines, surface and volume compliment the Laurent globes. While Bauhaus and Modernism continue to be familiar inspirations for the studio, with the Laurent collection, Lambert & Fils takes a distinctly contemporary tack.
