Exploring Japanese Calligraphy and the Art of Shodo, Waves is a monochrome hand painted wallpaper in calligraphy ink.
Shodo is an ancient art separated from any other creative work. It differs in that its main focuses are simplicity, beauty and – most importantly – a mind-body connection. Shodo’s true calligraphy is achieved by applying the elements of art, line, shape and space.
The inspiration for this range is the 1903 illustrative book HAMONSHU: A Japanese book of wave and ripple designs. Each piece of Waves is unique and signed. Waves is illustrated on white non-woven paper and is 75cm x 280cm in size.

German designer and illustrator, Natascha Maksimovic, otherwise known as Nat Maks, explores the concept of patterns, using different print and ink techniques including marbling, watercolour, lino and silk screen printing. These pattern studies are then brought to life on murals and wallpapers.
Natascha studied at Camberwell College of Arts and followed on to work for Ridley Scott within the film industry. She has since set up her own illustration and print studio where she works on various commissions, creating paper and homeware products. Nastascha’s products ship worldwide from the United Kingdom.
