The HIA 2020 Kitchen & Bathroom state-based award entries are closing on 30 June. The HIA Kitchen & Bathroom Awards recognise HIA members who display exceptional workmanship and design in creating innovative and functional residential kitchens and bathrooms.
Showcasing the best in Australian residential kitchen and bathrooms, entry fees for 2020 have been halved to assist HIA members to promote their businesses coming out of COVID-19.
Kitchen and bathroom projects are judged on-site against criteria such as quality of workmanship, design appearance, innovation, movement and access.
For the Kitchen and bathroom design entries, judging is on innovation, design, flair, lighting, movement, fixtures and fittings and presentation drawings. On-site judging does not take place for design entries with the entries being judged on the information provided at the time of entry.
The winners are announced at HIA regional Housing Award nights in each state, except for Queensland and Western Australia who will each hold a separate Kitchen & Bathroom Awards night. Winners of the Kitchen of the Year, Bathroom of the Year, Kitchen Design and Bathroom Design in each HIA region will progress onto the HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards.
Regions within the award are ACT and Southern NSW, Hunter, Gold Coast Northern Rivers, NSW, Northern Queensland, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia.
The Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards are open to all members of HIA with all entrants required to be licensed or registered builders/companies. To be eligible to enter the awards, projects are to have reached practical completion within 24 months prior to the closing of entries.
