Mosaico+ presents P-Saico

P-Saico by Mosaico+ is irregular, materical, three dimensional and a fresh concept of mosaic in which regularity is applied only to the rectangular shape of the tile, while the overall look of the installation is completely irregular.

P-SaicoThe P-Saico project was developed by Studio Irvine and based on the material and modularity concept of Sticks, and realised in porcelain stoneware. This material expands the traditional potential for using mosaic: not only wall coverings, P-Saico is suitable even for indoor and outdoor floor and pavings.

Tiles have an irregular surface, thus creating a three-dimensional material effect. Generally, mosaic is envisaged as installed in a uniform geometrical pattern, in which grout has almost always exactly the same width.

P-SaicoP-Saico consists of 1cm x 3cm stick fragments, pre-assembled and mesh-mounted (315mm x 320 mm) in irregular patterns to create modular sizes that perfectly integrates in a continuous surface.

P-SaicoThe composition of the modules and the grouting create a revised terrace but in contemporary key. P-Saico has a random effect pose with a variable fugue from 2mm to 6mm. Each card has one uneven surface, thus creating a materical three dimensional effect.

P-Saico is available in the MIX variant (in which 3 different textures are mixed randomly). These consist of the Smoke Mix and Coal Mix for White, Grey and Black and for a neutral finish, Plaster Mix and Clay Mix.

P-SaicoStudio Irvine is a design studio based in Milan and run by the architect Marialaura Rossiello Irvine. Founded in 1988 by British designer James Irvine (1958-2013), the studio remains faithful to his design approach and method in a combination of irony and precision. Based on the idea of design inspired by attention to ethics, the ‘human factor’ and personal interaction, Marialaura Rossiello is instilled with a vision in constant evolution, rooted in the classics of the Italian design school but with a broader international outlook.
