Fisher & Paykel, a leader in premium indoor and outdoor appliances, achieved Red Dot Awards in two categories for its Touchscreen Ovens and for its Column Refrigerators, Freezers and Wine Columns.
These products have been recognised for excellence across all aspects of their design and functionality. Fisher & Paykel Executive Vice President of Design & Brand, Mark Elmore says the Red Dot Awards are a testament to Fisher & Paykel’s human-centered design approach. “Our focus right from the outset of our design process is to delve deep into the insights around user behaviour and how we can enrich the life lived around appliances. The kitchen is where people come together to socialise and to spend time with family and friends. For us, great design is about making that experience a more beautiful one, not just aesthetically but in the way we interact with the kitchen.”
Running for more than 60 years, the Red Dot Design award is an international design awards program where entries are judged by a jury composed of eminent designers and thought leaders in all aspects of design. As one of the three major global design awards, it attracts a high standard of entries and winning an award is universally regarded as a testament to excellence in product design. This year’s awards received over 6500 entries.
Part of the wider Haier Group since 2012, Fisher & Paykel has strengthened its presence as a premium home appliance brand. Fisher & Paykel’s New Zealand Design Centre, based at two locations in Auckland and Dunedin, have been recognised as one of the wider Haier Group’s five global research and development centres of excellence.
