Sketch, designed by Malabar, is a handcrafted chest of drawers with a rich palette and a mix of complementary materials for a truly joyous piece of furniture.
The handcrafted chest of drawers combines a mix of Verde Guatemala and Rosso Levanto marbles, polished and brushed brass, and walnut, black stained ash wood, and Tanganyika wood leaves, measuring 65cm x 42cm x 165cm.
Memphis, the Italian design collective whose debut collection caused a sensation at Milan’s 1981 Salone del Mobile, was a riotous rejection of sensible modernism. Inspired by the very known art movements back in time, Art Deco and Pop Art Style, Memphis’ Group was born.
Known for its bright and bold furniture design style, Memphis keeps inspired artists and becomes a trend in interiors and furniture. Tributing Ettore Sottsass, the rule-breaking Malabar creatives designed this versatile piece of art. If it makes you wonder if it’s a shelving unit, a room divider, or art, well, that’s the point.
Sketch could be paired with other equally as artistic furniture pieces from Malabar’s collections for a playful style or would certainly do its job as a standout hero in a simple and modern room. Whether Sketch is placed in a library, children’s room, reception or hallway, it is sure to capture the gaze of anyone who lays eyes upon it.
