Tubes at Milano Design Week 2021

At this year’s Milano Design Week, Tubes Radiatori showcased three new products  SOHO/electrical, MILANO/horizontal and RIFT/reverse, evolutions of iconic projects with a contemporary value.

Tubes participated in the SuperSalone event with an exhibition wall 12 metres long located in Hall 2, entitled “New surreal perspectives”. The set-up was curated by Studio MILO with the collaboration of the English illustrator Charlotte Taylor. The project proposes three different settings: contemporary, eclectic and decò, each matched with a product.

Here the perspective effect and the lights and shadows make the settings three-dimensional, emphasising the architectural presence of the products.

MILANO/horizontal, RIFT/reverse and SOHO/electrical represent the concept of the project “senza fine” (endless). They are the evolution of the company’s three iconic products, MILANO, RIFT and SOHO, which continue to evolve and transform over time.

SOHO/electrical

Soho, a best seller that was conceived through the partnership with Ludovica+Roberto Palomba in 2008 with the idea of redesigning a shape consolidated by tradition. Tubes has extended its range to make this aluminium radiator recyclable, with a linear shape that rhythmically articulates the space where it is installed.

In 2020 SOHO/electrical came to life, a minimalist and elegant radiator with high energy efficiency and really smart technology. SOHO/electrical is available with an on/off control to switch it on and off and manually adjust the temperature or else it can be programmed with a digital wireless thermostat. Alternatively, it can have TOUCH control with a bluetooth system that enables it to be controlled through a device, e.g. a smartphone, without needing to be touched.

MILANO/horizontal

Milano, an iconic product designed in 2006 by Antonia Astori and Nicola De Ponti for Tubes, and which can be distinguished by its sinuous and sculptural body, is now available in an original horizontal version, to be installed on the wall or floor.

For designers or house owners that don’t wish to forgo the charm of a radiator under the window or in front of a glass door and are looking for a product with contemporary design and high performance levels, MILANO/horizontal is an original solution with elegant features and is available in two lengths.

From a technical point of view, MILANO/horizontal is electric and has touch control for switching it on and off and adjusting the temperature. Furthermore, by connecting it to a wireless thermostat, a weekly program can be set.

RIFT/reverse

Rift was designed by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba with Matteo Fiorini in 2014. RIFT/reverse is enriched with accessories created ad hoc. Thanks to a further aesthetic and technological experiment, the aluminium module increases its depth, evolving into a true heating shelf. In the longer version, there is also a soft-line wooden shelf. RIFT/reverse can be ideally positioned in the bathroom where it is used as a surface on which to conveniently place folded towels, thus offering tidiness and heating at the same time.

Its accessories were designed to make it even more practical. The thin towel rail is well suited to small rooms, whereas the wooden tray with its curved line creates an interesting contrast in shape and material, thus acting as an insulating storage shelf on which to place any items that shouldn’t get warm.

Also RIFT/reverse is electric and the control and adjustment are performed using the on/off switch or through programming with a wireless thermostat.
