Scavolini celebrates 60 years of history

In 2021, Scavolini celebrates its 60th anniversary as one of the leading names in the furniture world and synonymous with excellence “Made in Italy” all over the world.

The company was established in 1961 as a small, craft-based fitted kitchen business, founded by Valter and Elvino Scavolini. In just a few years, the brand became one of the largest industrial concerns in Italy, and one of the top-ranked brands in terms of modular kitchen exports.

In 2012, Scavolini branched out to include bathroom collections, which was supplemented in 2015 with living room solutions, and in 2019 with walk-in wardrobes. Group turnover exceeded €217 million in 2019, with a 25% share of goods exported, showing just how far Scavolini has come in being synonymous with “home” in the broadest and most personal sense.

Recognised across the world for its sophistication and furniture designed specifically for everyday users, the strength of Scavolini lies in its ability to change and adapt continuously, while retaining a strong brand identity, and succeeding in calibrating its drive for research and development while fully respecting its values; first and foremost, environmental protection.

One of the brand’s objectives has always been to enhance the quality of domestic life by providing attractive and functional solutions marked by a strong, distinctive Italian design. Scavolini creations are a benchmark for the entire industry and they stand out for the finest technologies that guarantee superior performance levels and maximum satisfaction. An additional key to the success of Scavolini is its ongoing development in the retail channel – which today boasts 1200 points of sale across the globe, including the Scavolini Store Sydney in Australia.

Scavolini channels its commitment to ecological responsibility with Scavolini Green Mind – an ambitious eco-sustainability project that values safeguarding the environment and involves all resources at every level of the organisation. Since the early 2000s, Scavolini has understood the importance of implementing a system based on the UNI EN ISO 14001 standard. In 2011, Project Sunload was implemented which saw the majority of the production plant being covered with photovoltaic panels, in order to ensure overall autonomous energy production.

To celebrate its 60th anniversary, Scavolini undertook a communication campaign that narrates the close relationship between the brand and people. This relationship is best expressed in the claim “From the kitchen, to the bathroom, the living room and the walk in wardrobe: we have become a home, together”.

As a homage to its Chairman, Scavolini has also dedicated a biography called “Valter Scavolini. Life as a Great Venture”. This is an all-Italian story in which the Country’s fate is intertwined with the growth of the company. Indeed, the book tells the story of the man at the heart of the family and of the development of the brand, in a tale which includes personal anecdotes, the successes and the decisions which have made Scavolini proudly acknowledged as being the “most popular and beloved in Italy”.
