Introducing the Ancora wall light from Jonathan Amar Studio – a handcrafted articulating wall light, composed of a solid brass structure adorned with a sheathed leather detail hand-sewn by artisan saddle workers.
The handwoven rattan or wicker shade is designed with a 90° rotation and a stem so you can orientate the light with ease. Various brass finishes and leather colours are available upon request.
The Parisian-based studio designs and produces bespoke brass lighting, furniture and accessories with a style characterised by the double ambition of being modern and familiar, universal yet poetic.
Each design embraces a contemporary outlook on traditional Moroccan craftsmanship. All pieces are handmade between the Portuguese city of Leiria, reputed for its exquisite glass making, and Morocco. The studio’s know-how stems from combining traditional materials such as wicker, rattan, and leather with brass using meticulous workmanship.
Its bespoke collections represent 35 years of passion and know-how in the fields of decorative arts and interior design. Over these years the studio has built a strong ecosystem within Moroccan artisanry with the aim of perpetuating its cultural heritage. Each product design is customisable and therefore adaptable to all types of clients and professionals for small and large scale projects.
